Rangers endured a miserable afternoon as they lost 2-1 away at Dundee, with pundit Chris Sutton reacting on Twitter after the final whistle.

The Gers travelled to Dens Park in search of a second straight win under caretaker manager Graeme Murty, who picked up a 2-1 Scottish Cup win over Morton last week as Rangers begin life after Mark Warburton.

Whilst Murty enjoyed success in his first game as a manager, that wasn’t the case against Dundee, as Mark O’Hara put the hosts in front after just 13 minutes.

Kevin Holt doubled Dundee’s lead before the break, and whilst Joe Garner pulled one back with a powerful drive, Rangers couldn’t find an equaliser, losing 2-1 at Dens Park.

The defeat means that Rangers now sit six points Aberdeen in the race for second place, piling the pressure on Rangers amid the recent chaos at Ibrox.

It’s unclear whether Murty will be handed the job until the end of the season given his lack of managerial experience, with a different interim boss or a full-time manager other avenues for the club.

Nobody appears to know what Rangers’ next move will be, but with confusion off the pitch and poor performances on it, the Gers need direction quickly if they are to challenge for second place.

After the final whistle against Dundee, pundit Chris Sutton took to Twitter to react to the defeat, suggesting that Rangers may be lucky to make it to 55 points this season, after fans were dreaming of a 55th title in pre-season.

Sutton added that Rangers chairman Dave King must get his act together quickly sort the club out, suggesting that the Gers are a ‘total mess’ right now.
