Chris Sutton offers reaction on Twitter to Celtic’s Europa League draw

Celtic have been drawn against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Europa League.

Pundit Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter in order to react to Celtic being drawn against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Europa League.

The Bhoys were always fighting an uphill battle to get out of their Champions League group, given that they were pitted against Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Belgian champions Anderlecht.

With just three points from six games, Celtic did struggle, but they managed to clinch third spot in their group via goal difference, and that handed them a passage into the Europa League.

Today, the draw was made for the knockout stages of the Europa League, meaning Celtic entered the competition – and they have been paired up with Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg.

Roberto Mancini’s side currently sit fourth in the Russian Premier League, six points behind league leaders Lokomotiv Moscow, but they blitzed through their Europa League group with just two points dropped in six games.

With the likes of Oleg Shatov, Artem Dzyuba and Aleksandar Kokorin in the final third, Zenit could pose major problems for Celtic – and pundit Chris Sutton has offered his reaction.

Sutton has taken to Twitter to suggest that it’s a ‘tough draw’ for Celtic, as they have been pitted against one of the strongest sides in the Europa League, meaning manager Brendan Rodgers must find a way to improve Celtic’s European form in order to progress.
