Chris Sutton has stated in The Daily Record that he is not convinced by Celtic January signing Marvin Compper.

Compper joined Celtic from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1 million.

The central defender has had injury issues and made his debut for the Hoops only recently when he featured against Greenock Morton.

The 32-year-old centre-back, though, did not feature against Rangers, and former Celtic striker Sutton has stated that he is not convinced by him.

Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “I’m still to be convinced about the Compper signing and Hendry – and Ajer are ones for the future rather than to be relied on getting to the group stages.”

Patience needed

Like Sutton, many Celtic fans will not be convinced by Compper, and that is mainly because he has not played much for the Glasgow giants since his move in the January transfer window.

The Celtic Park faithful, though, need to be patience and should have trust in manager Rodgers’s judgement.

After all, the former Liverpool and Swansea City boss would not have signed the German centre-back if he did not think that he was good enough to play for the Hoops.
