Celtic and Rangers played out a 1-1 draw in the game of the weekend in Scotland – and both teams are well represented in Chris Sutton’s Team of the Week.
The Old Firm derby came around again on Sunday, pitting two fierce rivals against each other, but also two teams in very differing fortunes both on and off the pitch.
Whilst Celtic have been exceptional under Brendan Rodgers and remain unbeaten this season, Rangers were sitting in third place with interim boss Graeme Murty taking charge of his final game.
However, the result on the pitch was a draw, as after Stuart Armstrong had smashed Celtic in front with a superb long-range effort, Clint Hill equalised from close range in the dying seconds after Emerson Hyndman’s shot had been parried by Craig Gordon.
In a closely contested game, a number of players impressed, with six Old Firm players making it into pundit Chris Sutton’s Team of the Week in the SPFL.
Celtic trio Craig Gordon, Kieran Tierney and goalscorer Armstrong were all named in Sutton’s side, whilst Rangers’ unsung right back Lee Hodson was also included, alongside goalscorer Hill and midfielder Jason Holt.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Inverness rescued a late point in a 1-1 draw at Partick Thistle, but that didn’t stop Partick defender Niall Keown from making it into Sutton’s side, whilst Aberdeen’s Kenny McLean was also named in the team after their late 1-0 home win over Motherwell.
St Johnstone’s Blair Aston was included after his goal in the 2-0 home win over Dundee, with Hearts’ 4-0 home win over Hamilton Academical handing Don Cowie a spot in the team.
Finally, Kilmarnock Kris Boyd was picked as the only striker, having scored a late winner in the 2-1 victory at Ross County – below is Sutton’s selection, with a surprisingly healthy amount of Rangers players in the XI.
