Celtic earned a huge 5-1 win over Motherwell while Rangers beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic faced Motherwell for the third time in the space of a week at Parkhead, smashing Stephen Robinson’s side 5-1 to extend their unbeaten run to 67 games north of the border.
PSG loanee Odsonne Edouard scored a hat-trick, while 26-year-old James Forrest bagged a brace for the Hoops. Interim Rangers manager Graeme Murty saw his side win their fourth match of his six games in charge 2-1 over the Dons.

Centre-back Danny Wilson scored his first goal of the season, while Josh Windass also found the back of the net despite Murty’s side going down to 10 men thanks to Ryan Jack’s fourth red card of the season.
Sutton decided to leave two-goal ace Forrest out of his side, who came on for Jonny Hayes with 20 minutes left. However, Kristoffer Ajer, Kieran Tierney, Olivier Ntcham, Hayes and Edouard were all chosen, as well as Rangers stars James Tavernier and Ross McCrorie.
Celtic’s win saw them extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to seven points with a game in hand, but Rangers’ victory has seen them leapfrog Aberdeen and Hibernian into second place.
The Hoops are next in action against Anderlecht on Wednesday night as they look to book their place in the Europa League after Christmas, while Murty could remain in charge for Saturday’s match against Ross County.
