Glasgow Rangers forward Michael O’Halloran has come in for a lot of criticism from the Ibrox fans after Saturday’s cup final.

Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to mock Rangers as Gers forward Michael O’Halloran continues to face a backlash for attending Saturday’s Scottish Cup final after he ended up sitting amongst the Celtic fans.

O’Halloran is Rangers’ forgotten man having made just one appearance for the Light Blues’ first-team all season – he did enjoy a successful loan spell at St Johnstone during the first few months of the campaign, but it did little to improve his prospects at Ibrox.

There already seemed to be a question mark lingering over his future due to his lack of game-time, but there now appears to be little way for O’Halloran to turn his fortunes around with Rangers, with his agent Kenny Moyes telling the Daily Record that a summer move may be on the cards despite the fact that the 27-year-old thought that his cup final ticket would place him amongst the neutrals at Hampden Park.

But, perhaps unsurprisingly, O’Halloran has got a supporter in former Hoops striker Sutton who took to social media to have a dig at the Gers over their failure to reach the final.

Here is what Sutton posted on Twitter in response to the O’Halloran backlash…

It would certainly not be a surprise if O’Halloran had already played his final game for the Gers. The forward has never been able to establish himself in the side and he would have been one of the names that most fans would have expected to be on their way this summer anyway. But this situation would surely make it much harder for the attacker to force his way into Steven Gerrard’s plans ahead of next season.
