Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton hits back at Rangers fan.

Rangers fans are seen during the Scottish Cup Quarter final match between Rangers and Hamilton Academical at Ibrox Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has mocked a Rangers fan’s claim the club are moving in on a 55th league title this season.

Rangers only finished in third place last season and face a big challenge to overhaul a dominant Celtic.

Sutton is not buying into Rangers’ chances, implying he has heard the same hopes from fans over and over again without success.

Rangers do have fresh hope after sacking Graeme Murty and bringing in Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard has reinvigorated the ambitions of a fanbase who watched Rangers get beaten 4-0 and 5-0 by Celtic at the end of last season.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Until Rangers start impressing on the pitch, Celtic supporters are unlikely to be concerned by their tite hopes.

Sutton has rarely had complimentary comments to say about Rangers in recent times, but the chaos of the Ibrox side since their 2016 promotion has made them an easy target.
