Pundit and ex Celtic striker Chris Sutton was amused by Andy Halliday’s recent comments.

Halliday was quoted in the Daily Record he believed Rangers could have caught Celtic up if they had the opportunity.

Scotland’s season was cut short and Celtic were awarded the title, when football was forced to shut down in March.

Celtic were 13 points clear of Rangers when the league came to a halt.

Rangers had a game in hand on Celtic and had to play their title rivals too, but even then, they would have been relying on an uncharacteristic Celtic collapse.

It should not be ignored how out of form Rangers were too, having entered 2020 on an even keel with Celtic, they lost ground as they dropped points, and then also crashed out of the Scottish Cup.

Halliday has since left Rangers with his contract expiring.
