The former Celtic striker believes his old side are in for a tough night at Parkhead.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is tipping his old side for a tough night at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach.
Both sides are seeking their first win in this season’s Champions League proper, with Celtic currently a point and a place above their German opponents in third – behind Group C rivals Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.
Despite the Bhoys’ advantage over Gladbach – both league- and venue-wise – Sutton has warned the Scottish champions not to take Andre Schubert’s side for granted.
He posted the following on Twitter ahead of Wednesday’s encounter: “A tough game for Celtic. Don’t underestimate Borussia.”
That said, Sutton suggests Celtic will get off to a good start at Parkhead – just as they did against City on matchweek 2, when they scored inside three minutes.
Moussa Dembele was the first player on target that night and will be again on Wednesday, the 43-year-old predicts.
He added: “Got to go Dembele (to open the scoring) he is hot.”
Sutton spent six years a Celtic player and was a league winner on four occasions. He was also part of the Bhoys’ side that reached the 2003 Uefa Cup final, losing to Jose Mourinho’s Porto team.
