Chis Sutton has highlighted the importance of signing a striker.
Chris Sutton has criticized Brendan Rodgers’ recruitment team, especially Lee Congerton, the head of the recruitment, for failing to bring in the right profile of players this summer.
The former Celtic player said that Rodgers should be looking to sign a third striker in his squad, but his system of using one striker prevents him from doing so.
Rodgers already has Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths in his squad, and adding another top striker is a luxury.

The Celtic manager has explained that instead of signing a striker, he wants his wide players to chip in with goals.
Sutton observes that Celtic are “not as strong this season,” with Patrick Roberts not around to offer something extra in the final third.
Roberts has returned to his parent club Manchester City, and there is no guarantee that he will return to Parkhead this summer.
“He had had decisions to make but if anything you could ask some serious questions about what head of recruitment Lee Congerton is bringing to the party given his reputation for talent spotting,” wrote Sutton in his column for the Daily Record.
“For me, Celtic are not as strong this season with Patrick Roberts not around to offer that something different you need in the final third.
“But there’s no bottomless money pit at Celtic and if it came down to spending £5m on a top drawer centre half or a back up striker, I now where my money would be going.”
Are critics being too harsh on Rodgers and Celtic?
Yes, losing Roberts is a blow, no doubt, but Rodgers has signed in different quality of players to fill the void left by him.
The same system worked well for Rodgers last season. It is unfair to form a judgement based on one game only.
