The Celtic midfielder has been linked with a move away from Parkhead.
Chris Sutton suggested that he is becoming more and more convinced that this season will be Scott Brown’s last in a Celtic shirt, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Record.
Brown, 33, has embodied everything that the Hoops are all about since moving to Parkhead from Hibernian in the summer of 2007.
The Scot has racked up an impressive 498 appearances in all competitions for Celtic, and he remains very much Brendan Rodgers’ on-field general.
His future in Glasgow remains uncertain, however.
According to the Daily Record, Australian A-League side Western Melbourne have already offered Brown a two-year deal – one that was swiftly knocked back by the experienced midfielder.
Even so, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before the Scot leaves Celtic.
Chris Sutton is certainly convinced that the Hoops skipper’s time at Parkhead is coming to an end, as quoted by the Daily Record:
“I am becoming more and more convinced this will be Scott Brown’s last season at Parkhead.”
Brown has been such an important player for Celtic throughout the years, that losing him will obviously be a huge blow for the club, and replacing him will not be an easy task.
It seems ever more likely, however, that that is exactly what Brendan Rodgers will have to do in the summer.
