Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has included four Rangers and two Celtic players in his Scottish Premiership Team of the Week (via Sutton’s official Twitter account).
The Old Firm foes both picked up three points at the weekend. With the title already wrapped up, the Hoops’ 3-1 win over Kilmarnock was the less significant of the two victories, but they were impressive enough for Scott Sinclair and James Forrest to earn a place in Sutton’s team.
Both men were on the scoresheet at Parkhead, with Sinclair scoring what proved to be the winner while Forrest scored the clinching goal five minutes later.
But it was Rangers that received many plaudits for their performance, with Sutton comprising the spine of his team with a quartet of stars from Pedro Caixinha’s side.
Celtic’s Scott Sinclair was also included
The Gers gave their chances of catching Aberdeen and finishing second a boost as they beat the Dons 3-0 at Pittodrie thanks to two goals from Kenny Miller and one from Joe Dodoo.
While Dodoo misses out on Sutton’s team, Miller does make the lineup alongside goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, centre-back Danny Wilson and midfielder Jason Holt, all of whom have received criticism at various stages during the season.
But with Sutton’s team selection highlighting that a number of Rangers’ players may be hitting form, perhaps the race for second in the top flight has got a few twists and turns still ahead.
