Moussa Dembele is playing well for Celtic this season.
Celtic forward Moussa Dembele is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership. Dembele is scoring goals left, right and centre, and has established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’s side.
The 20-year-old forward has scored 26 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season, having joined from English club Fulham in the summer of 2016.
The youngster has been linked with moves away from the Glasgow giants in the summer transfer window. According to The Sun, Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are interested in signing Dembele. The Mirror has also credited Spanish giants Real Madrid with a move for the 20-year-old.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton, who now works as a pundit for BT Sport and BBC Sport, has been impressed with Dembele’s performances so far this campaign, but he has highlighted a few areas where he needs to improve.
“Dembele is coming along at a terrific rate of knots, but the player and his advisors will also be well aware that he is a long way from the finished article,” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record.
“That’s not criticising, that’s just basic fact. The lad is only 20 years of age and still has things to improve upon, which is only natural at this stage of his career.
“His link play could be better, his movement could improve and he needs to learn to go both ways in the box instead of always trying to shift things onto his right foot whenever possible, but that’s just being ultra-picky and Dembele will get there with more experience.”
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 73 points from 25 matches, 24 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen.
Rodgers’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park in the league.
