Chris Sutton has stated on Twitter that Celtic manager Neil Lennon will not survive the defeat to Ross County.
Celtic have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of County in the second round of the Scottish League Cup this afternoon.
A penalty from Ross Stewart saw Stuart Kettlewell’s side go ahead in the 39th minute. Then in the 84th minute, Alex Iacovitti made it 2-0 to secure the win for the Staggies.
The defeat means that Celtic will not win the domestic treble this season. The Glasgow giants have failed to progress to the knockout rounds of the Europa League as well.
The Hoops are as many as 11 points behind leaders and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table, although it must be noted that Steven Gerrard’s side have played two more matches.
Former Celtic striker Sutton believes that Lennon will not be in charge of the Hoops after the defeat to County in the Scottish League Cup today, and ex-Hibernian forward Tam McManus is of the same opinion, as their posts on Twitter suggest.
