Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Kolo Toure in the summer transfer window.
Former Liverpool defender Kolo Toure
Chris Sutton has suggested in The Daily Record that Kolo Toure would be a good signing for Celtic in the summer transfer window.
According to a recent report in The Daily Mail, Celtic are interested in signing Toure on a free transfer this summer.
The 35-year-old central defender is a free agent at the moment, having been released by Liverpool at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The former Ivory Coast international centre-back worked with Rodgers at Liverpool, and it has been reported by The Daily Mail that the current Celtic boss wants a reunion with him.
Former Celtic striker Sutton believes that Toure would be a good signing for the Scottish Premiership champions.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
“There is still talk of Kolo Toure and he’d definitely fit the bill,” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record. “Sometimes a short-time solution is not a bad thing.
“Toure will have big money options in the likes of Qatar or further afield so if it comes down to money then forget it.
“But he might fancy a season at Celtic, playing in the Champions League and in front of full houses every week. Brendan can only ask him the question but he could be the answer.”

Toure has a lot of experience and could do a decent job for Celtic, especially in the Champions League qualifiers.
The defender won the Premier League with Arsenal during the 2003-04 season and then again with Manchester City in 2011-12.
At 35, Toure is past his best, but he is very hard-working and has a lot of experience, assets that would be valuable for Celtic next season.
