Footballing legend Thierry Henry has reportedly agreed to take over at Aston Villa.
Chris Sutton believes Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has been harshly treated as the club reportedly agree a move for Thierry Henry to replace him at Villa Park as the club’s new boss.
The Daily Star claimed on Monday that footballing legend Henry is set to take his first steps into management by moving to Villa Park, after stepping down from Belgium’s national side and his role as a Sky Sports pundit.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona star has always been keen to make his way into management and now the French legend could be about to replace Bruce, with the report claiming he has “verbally agreed” to take over at Villa Park.
Sutton, who played for Villa briefly during the 2006-07 season, reacted on Twitter by describing any potential move as “very harsh” should Henry replace Bruce.
Bruce took Villa to within an inch of Premier League promotion last season, as the club finally lost 1-0 to Fulham at Wembley in the play-off final thanks to Tom Cairney’s first-half strike.
Villa have since been marred with financial problems, with plenty of first-team stars on big contracts at Villa Park. Those problems have subsided for the time being, and now a change of manager looks set to happen.
