Norwich City defender Russell Martin is expected to complete a move to Rangers.

Celtic icon Chris Sutton has applauded Rangers’ impending signing of Norwich City captain Russell Martin on Twitter, describing the defender as a “good leader”.
The Scotland Herald reported on Tuesday afternoon that the 32-year-old defender had arrived in Glasgow to complete a move to Graeme Murty’s side, becoming the fourth player to put pen to paper at Ibrox this month.

A medical is expected to be completed this afternoon following Rangers and Norwich agreeing terms on a loan deal that will see the defender move to ibrox until the end of the season.
He joins winger Jamie Murphy in joining from Brighton, Jamie Goss from QPR and Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings moving to the Light Blues this month. Sutton believes Martin “is a loss” to Norwich, “but Rangers gain.”
Rangers are in need of a centre-back after veteran Bruno Alves was sidelined for the foerseeable future with a calf injury, which forced him to miss the Gers’ trip to Florida.
Martin, who has 29 caps for Scotland, has plummeted down the pecking order at Carrow Road this season, making just seven first-team appearances and it could see the Gers sign the defender permanently in the future. His contract runs out in the summer of 2019.
