Everton are searching for their first win of the new year as they prepare to face Wolves on Wednesday night.
Jake O’Brien spoke after the game about how tired the squad was, and that seemed to play out in their performance on the pitch.
Even so, David Moyes will need to adjust his line-up to address the fatigue concerns that have been building up at Finch Farm.
Looking ahead to their meeting at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Chris Sutton has weighed in with his prediction, also mentioning Thierno Barry and Beto in what he called an ‘unbelievable’ situation.
Chris Sutton surprised by poor seasons from Thierno Barry and Beto at Everton

Chris Sutton gave his prediction for the Everton v Wolves match in his BBC Sport column, where he also touched on how poor Barry and Beto have been.
The former Premier League winner wrote: “Everton boss David Moyes could do with some reinforcements in the January transfer window, but I don’t see his side losing two on the spin at home.
“The Toffees were well beaten by Brentford on Sunday but this seems like a good opportunity for them to get back on track.
“Their strikers Beto and Thierno Barry both scored in the same game against the Bees. Watching them struggle this season, that is unbelievable, really.
“Moyes probably thinks that is typical, for them to score when it doesn’t really matter, but maybe one of them will net when it does count, here.”
Sutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Everton.
Everton eyeing options up front
Everton are looking at a shortlist of three strikers: Artem Dovbyk, Jorgen Strand Larsen, and Ivan Toney.
Alan Myers has said he would love to see Toney at the club, though that move does not seem likely right now.
Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar is another name in the mix, but with a £31m price tag, it is not a straightforward deal.
After both Barry and Beto scored against Brentford, there has been talk among fans about whether they can build on that performance. Moyes could rethink his plans because of it.
For now, though, all signs still suggest Everton will look to bring in a new forward before the window closes.
