Pundit and former footballer Chris Sutton has doubled down on his comments about Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sutton, writing on Twitter after Tottenham beat Manchester City on Sunday, stated: “Looks like Celtic have inspired teams on how to play against Peps men.”
Celtic drew 3-3 with Manchester City in the Champions League days earlier, ending Guardiola’s side’s 100 per cent record.

Where Tottenham fans would take exception with this, is that their team beat City home and away last season, winning 6-2 combined in two matches, and this latest win was merely an extension of that.
Sutton’s comments drew criticism on social media with one Spurs fan asking him if he watched any Premier League football last season, prompting him to back up his original point, determined to give Celtic their due.
Sutton played in both the Premier League and in Scotland, winning titles in both leagues,
Celtic may well have softened up City with their match taking plenty out of Guardiola’s side physically and mentally prior to the Tottenham game, but whether Pochettino and his coaching staff actually used the match as a blueprint to inflict damage on their opponents’ defence is a fact only they will know.
