Marco Silva’s Everton side suffered a 2-1 defeat against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Chris Sutton has completely destroyed Everton by labelling them as ‘rotten’ and ‘boring’ following their 2-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
The former Premier League striker has been unimpressed with their season so far as he claimed that they have been a ‘massive disappointment’ and that they are ‘flat track bullies’.
Former Hull and Watford boss Marco Silva was appointed Toffees manager in the summer when he replaced the sacked Sam Allardyce in the Goodison Park dugout.
When analysing Silva’s 23 league games this season, Sutton didn’t hold back in his criticism as he also made numerous claims about their style and who they have beaten.
“I think it has been a massive disappointment,” Sutton told 606 on BBC Radio Five Live. “I think they have served into so many average performances this season. They are flat track bullies.
“They have only beaten one team in the top half. Such high hopes, they have spent big again, Silva’s gone in and people are talking about the brand of football. And largely they have been rotten and they have been boring.”
Following that defeat at St Mary’s, Everton dropped outside of the Premier League’s top 10 and they have now lost four out of their five matches on the road.
The Merseyside club, who had two managers in Ronald Koeman and Allardyce in the Goodison Park dugout last season, spent big money on players over the summer.
Watford winger Richarlison was one of the standout purchases, alongside Barcelona defender Yerry Mina and his teammate Andre Gomes.
Silva will be hoping for a change of fortune at the weekend when his Everton side travel to London for a tough FA Cup fourth-round encounter against Championship side Millwall.
