Chris Sutton has criticised Scott Sinclair for his poor performance in big games.

Scott Sinclair of Celtic vies with James Tavernier of Rangers during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Former Celtic striker turned football pundit Chris Sutton is surprised with Scott Sinclar’s form this season.

Sinclair is one of the key players for Brendan Rodgers’ side, and he has been ever present for the Bhoys this season.

He has scored eight league goals, and 15 in all competitions, this season and overall has been impressive.

However, Sutton has found one major flaw in his game, and that is he doesn’t produce enough in big games.

Sinclair missed some good chances against Glasgow Rangers in the recent Old Firm derby. Sutton points out that it is the most domestic game for Celtic, irrespective of the fact that Rangers are not their title challengers, and Sinclair didn’t deliver.

The football pundit adds that Sinclair’s miss against Rangers in the first half was not only poor but it shows that it was a half-hearted attempt from the player.

“They can’t escape too much criticism but it’s clear there are others who have gone off the boil. I don’t know what has happened to Scott Sinclair of late,” wrote Sutton in column for the Daily Record.

“His goal return is still impressive but he has not produced enough in the big games and they don’t come much bigger than a Rangers game.

“They might not be Celtic’s main title challengers but ask the fans what they see as the most important domestic clashes.

“I couldn’t believe the chance he missed in the first half on Saturday. The sitter was bad enough but the one at the back post he simply s*** his pants.”

Celtic are still top of the Scottish Premier League table, with a healthy eight point lead over second placed Aberdeen, but there are several areas where they should look to improve after the winter break.
