Former Premier League winner Chris Sutton has credited Celtic for inspiring Tottenham Hotspur’s big win over Manchester City.

While Brendan Rodgers’ side put in an impressive performance in midweek, Tottenham will argue they had enough belief in their own ability to win regardless.
Tottenham beat City 4-1 at White Hart Lane last season at 2-1 at The Etihad, and while Guardiola has added a fear factor to his new side, Spurs are themselves unbeaten and had every right to feel confident they would pull off a result.
Their 2-0 win could have been by an even greater margin had it not been for Erik Lamela’s missed penalty in the second half, but so great was their confidence and level of performance that even this did not prove a costly turning point.
