Celtic have signed Marvin Compper. Does that mean that Erik Sviatchenko will leave in the January transfer window?

Scottish Premiership club Celtic have signed Compper from German club RB Leipzig, with the central defender to officially move to the Bhoys on January 1.
According to BBC Sport, the Hoops had to pay a transfer fee of around £1m in order to secure the services of the 32-year-old central defender.
Former Celtic striker Sutton has given his take on manager Brendan Rodgers’s decision to bring in the German centre-back, who is ineligible to play in the Europa League this season.

Sutton, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, has also suggested that the arrival of Compper could spell the end of Erik Sviatchenko at Celtic.
The 26-year-old Denmark international central defender has been on the books of Celtic since January 2016 when he joined from Danish club Midtjylland for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5m when Ronny Deila was in charge.

Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “Rodgers has moved early to bring in Marvin Compper and the reaction has been mixed to say the least. Come on though, give the guy a chance. He’s been written off before he’s kicked a ball.
“Compper might be 33 on his next birthday but his age doesn’t bother me. He’s an experienced defender with decent pedigree over the years.”
“The German coming in means the writing is on the way for Erik Sviatchenko,” added Sutton. “He started the campaign injured but has been fit for a while now and I think it was pretty clear his future lies elsewhere when Kris Ajer was put in ahead of him against Thistle.”
