Celtic snapped up full back Jeremie Frimpong earlier this month.

Pundit Chris Sutton has told the Daily Record that he doesn’t think fans should be getting too carried away with the performance of Jeremie Frimpong last week.
The Bhoys signed three full backs on deadline day last month, as Greg Taylor arrived from Kilmarnock, Lee O’Connor joined from Manchester United and Frimpong came in from Manchester City.
Frimpong is the only one to have played first-team football since his arrival, as he started in the Scottish League Cup tie with second-tier Partick Thistle.
The 18-year-old Dutchman played 79 minutes before being replaced by Jack Hendry, and he did enough to impress Celtic fans.
Ultimately, Frimpong is one for the future. Celtic signed two right backs this summer in Moritz Bauer and Hatem Abd Elhamed, whilst O’Connor can play there, as can loaned-out duo Anthony Ralston and Manny Perez.
Frimpong has made a promising start though, and will hope to prove that he is worthy of more first-team football before the end of the season.

Now, ex-Celtic ace Sutton has suggested that Celtic fans shouldn’t get too giddy just yet, as he only impressed against a poor side, but believes he has at least put his hat in the ring for more playing time.
“There is competition for places all over and Jeremie Frimpong has thrown his hat in to the ring at right back,” said Sutton. “I wouldn’t go overboard about his display against a bottom-of-the-Championship Partick but a lot of people rave about this youngster and predict he has a big future at Celtic,” he added.
