Former Norwich City and Celtic striker Chris Sutton has given his verdict on Jeff Hendrick’s move to Burnley in the summer transfer window on social networking site Twitter.

Hendrick joined Premier League club Burnley from Championship outfit Derby County on transfer deadline day.

According to The Guardian, the Clarets had to pay the Rams a transfer fee of £10.5 million in order to secure the services of the 24-year-old midfielder.

Former Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea striker Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his verdict on Hendrick’s move to Turf Moor.

Hendrick had been at Derby his entire professional career until his move to Burnley and had established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Championship.

The 24-year-old featured for the Republic of Ireland at the 2016 European Championship in France in the summer.

In four appearances for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016, the midfielder created three chances, had a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and won eight headers, two dribbles and two tackles, according to Squawka.com.

Burnley got promoted to the Premier League from the Championship at the end of last season.

Hendrick should prove to be a good signing for Clarets, who are one of the candidates to get relegated.
