Celtic are looking for a new manager having seen Neil Lennon resign from his post last month, bringing his tough season to an end.
The Bhoys must try to find a quality replacement, but there are a few trains of thought Celtic could go down in search fo a new boss.
European managers have been linked, as have former Celtic men. Do the Bhoys go for experience or a young up-and-comer?
In the latter category, Enzo Maresca is emerging as a real contender for the job having been in charge of Manchester City’s Under-23’s this season.
Formerly at Sevilla and once on Manuel Pellegrini’s coaching staff at West Ham United, Maresca is a well-respected coach who looks destined for management.
The 41-year-old would be something of a risk, similar to when Steven Gerrard became Rangers boss in 2018 in that he hasn’t yet managed at senior level.

Now, Chris Sutton has told the Daily Record (10/03, p57) that he thinks the job is a ‘big ask’ for Maresca given his lack of experience.
Sutton thinks Maresca could be brilliant, but just doesn’t think the squad is right for the Italian right now given the overhaul Celtic need.
“It’s a big ask from Maresca to step up into the Glasgow environment and take over a club of Celtic’s size,” said Sutton. “Would he be able to have the personality and character to cope with that being his first job? Now it’s not impossible. He may be a brilliant coach. But at this moment in time that’s a big ask with the current squad or the shape it will be in at the start of next season,” he added.
