Celtic go into the international break topping the Scottish Premiership table ahead of their Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Chris Sutton has offered differing views on Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard and Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos following their recent performances in the Old Firm.
Former Premier League winner Sutton lauded the qualities of Edouard as he backed him to be ‘anything he wants to be’, but he stated that ‘the truth’ about Morelos is that he hasn’t been able to produce the goods against Celtic yet.
Over the weekend, Steven Gerrard opted to start with Jermain Defoe rather than Morelos, with the Columbian coming off the bench and struggling to make an impact.
Sutton shared his thoughts on both players and the qualities they have at their disposal as he was clearly impressed with what Edouard is producing.
“I have to say though Edouard was unplayable at times,” Sutton told the Daily Record. “He has once again proved that he is a big-game player. I have taken a bit of stick because I’ve demanded more from him at times.
“Edouard is a young player and he arrived at Celtic Park for a huge fee but he is so, so talented. His value just keeps increasing every time he scores in a derby which has now happened five times. Edouard can be anything he wants to be – he really can.
“It was a huge call to leave Alfredo Morelos out of the derby in favour of Jermain Defoe but after seeing the Colombian’s display for the last half an hour you can why he was left on the bench. People have been bigging Morelos up for a long time now but the truth of the matter is that he simply hasn’t done it for Rangers in a Celtic game yet.”

Both Edouard and Morelos will be fighting to be the top marksman in Scotland’s top-flight this season, as their performances will be huge in how their respective teams fare this season.
But, as was proven on Sunday, it’s what they do in the Old Firm matches that will matter most, as the next game between the duo will take place before the end of the year at Parkhead.
A busy September awaits both Celtic and Rangers. At this moment in time, the players are on an international break, but upon their return, they will partake in Premiership and Europa League matches.
