Chris Sutton believes Celtic do stand a chance of getting a result against Bayern Munich.
Celtic earned an impressive 3-0 win at Anderlecht last night to kick start their Champions League campaign.
But after suffering a 5-0 loss to PSG in their opener, it is hard to assess quite where Celtic stand.
Their next match away at Bayern Munich will show whether their win in Belgium was just a false dawn.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes they have a chance in Germany, providing they can defend well, and follow the blueprint of the Anderlecht win.
Speaking to BT Sport’s post-game coverage, Sutton said: “It is important to defend strongly. They can nick a goal. This result today gives them the platform and belief.
“Brendan Rodgers must stick to this system, it is their best and most effective, 4-2-3-1.”
Colleague and former Celtic teammate John Hartson added: “It is a formidable ask go to Bayern to get result, but they are full of confidence after this and the weekend.”
Celtic have dominated domestic football in Scotland under Rodgers, but in Europe they have not played with the same belief.
The win at Anderlecht may have been a turning point for them, but Bayern Munich is a serious step up in quality.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were beaten 3-0 by PSG last night, and are currently level on points with Celtic.
