Chris Sutton has given his take on Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard in The Daily Record, and has suggested that the Hoops need to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.

The former Celtic forward, who now work as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, has claimed that Edouard looks lazy in matches, but he believes that the 21-year-old has “outstanding natural talent”.

Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “Edouard has shown his talents in the past with big goals in big games but I see matches where he looks almost lazy and floats round the periphery of things.

“Add to that a penchant for picking up injuries and it makes you think he can’t be fully relied upon, despite his outstanding natural talent.”

Need for better

Edouard is a very good and promising young forward, but the Frenchman does lack consistency, and sometimes it appears that he save himself for the big games.

Celtic also have Leigh Griffiths in their attacking unit, but it is clear that they need to add another striker to their team.

The Hoops have not really replaced French striker Mousa Dembele, who left the Glasgow giants for Lyon in the summer of 2018.

Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title for the past eight seasons, and the Bhoys will be favourites to make it nine in a row in 2019-20 as well.
