Liverpool have dropped points in their last two Premier League games.
Chris Sutton suggested that Jürgen Klopp’s admission that his Liverpool players did not enjoy the game at West Ham was most alarming, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail.
The Reds currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, three points clear of Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola’s side can leapfrog Klopp’s men, if they beat Everton at Goodison Park tonight.
Liverpool have been mightily impressive so far this season, but there have been signs recently that they are starting to feel the pressure of the title race.
And Sutton highlighted something that Klopp said after his side’s draw with West Ham that really alarmed him, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail:
“After losing at Newcastle, Guardiola could have pointed to the disallowed Sergio Aguero goal but only talked about the display. Most alarming was Klopp’s admission that his players did not enjoy the game at West Ham. If you can’t enjoy the challenge, then you are finished. Guardiola has the better poker face.”
Liverpool have a vitally important couple of weeks ahead of them, both domestically and on the continent, in a period that could end up defining their season.
The Merseyside outfit welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Saturday, before they play host to Bayern Munich in the Champions League 10 days later.
They then travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United the following Sunday, and how they perform in those three games will have a huge bearing on their chances of winning anything this season.
