Celtic were beaten 2-1 by Bayern Munich at Parkhead in the Champions League last night.

Chris Sutton has told BT Sport, during their live coverage of Celtic’s match against Bayern Munich, that David Alaba was petrified of James Forrest.

Alaba is regarded as one of the top left-backs in world football, but he was given a torrid time by Forrest last night.

The Celtic wide-man showed all his ability, as the Bhoys were only narrowly beaten by the Germany champions.

And Sutton has big praise for Forrest after the match. He said: “Alaba was petrified. Every time he got the ball he was brilliant.”

Forrest was unfortunate not to end up with an assist for his excellent showing against Bayern.

The Scotland international clipped in a great ball for Stuart Armstrong in the first-half, but the midfielder failed to convert from close-range.

That miss ultimately proved costly, as Celtic slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Bayern.

The Bhoys went behind when Kingsley Coman capitalised on a huge defensive error, but they found their equaliser through Callum McGregor.

At that point it looked as if Celtic could go on a cause an upset, but Javi Martinez’s header ensured Brendan Rodgers’ side’s hopes of winning the tie were short lived.
