Rangers star Morelos has escaped a ban from the SFA.

Alfredo Morelos has escaped punishment for a number of incidents during Rangers’ Old Firm win over Celtic on December 29 – and Celtic legend Chris Sutton is not impressed.
Rangers finally beat Celtic in the Scottish Premiership for the first time in six years thanks to Ryan Jack’s first-half strike, which found its way into the back of the net past Craig Gordon via a deflection off of Hoops captain Scott Brown.
In what was a feisty affair, Morelos was caught niggling away at Celtic’s stars throughout the match as Rangers held onto a 1-0 win. The victory pushes Rangers level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
The SFA’s compliance officer Clare Whyte ruled that after reviewing the incidents involving Morelos from December 29’s clash, that there was not enough to issue the Colombia international with a ban – and Sutton is angry.
Morelos was caught early on kicking captain Brown after missing out to the Hoops skipper in an aerial duel. Referee John Beaton decided it was only worthy of a free-kick.
The former HJK Helsinki striker than flicked his hand in the direction of Ryan Christie’s mid-drift, before stamping on Anthony Ralston as he retrieved a loose ball. But none were deemed worthy of retrospective action.
Morelos is now free to face Cowdenbeath in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on January 19, after the winter break.
