Pundit Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to suggest that Nottingham Forest’s move for Jason Cummings is ‘cheap’ at a reported £1million.

Forest survived from relegation to League One on the final day of the Championship season, and manager Mark Warburton is now charged with the task of improving his Forest side.

Another striker could be on Warburton’s wish list as he looks to provide competition for Britt Assombalonga, Apostolos Vellios and Ben Brereton, with a deal potentially close.

Sky Sports report that Forest have offered Hibernian a £1million deal to sign Jason Cummings, with the deal seemingly moving closer to completion.

The Scottish striker was a thorn in Warburton’s side during his time as Rangers manager, with Cummings leading the Hibernian attack during the 2015/16 campaign – a season in which he scored 25 goals.

This past season, Cummings scored 23 goals in all competitions as Hibernian won promotion back to the Scottish Premiership, and the striker’s personal record now stands at 69 goals in three seasons.

Hibernian won’t want to lose Cummings, but Forest appear to be nearing a deal – and pundit Chris Sutton is certainly impressed by Warburton’s move.

Sutton has taken to Twitter in order to suggest that the £1m price is ‘cheap’ for Cummings, suggesting that he sees the deal as a bargain, before joking that he thought Warburton would be targeting some of the players he signed for Rangers.
