Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League table.
Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has told BBC Sport that Sunderland’s home clash with Hull City on November 19th will be the game that determines if David Moyes remains at the club.
The Black Cats have endured a disastrous start to the season, going without a win in their first nine games.
That sees them sitting bottom of the table and looking extremely likely to be in another relegation battle by the end of the campaign.
The pressure is already on Moyes, who only replaced Sam Allardyce in the summer, with bookmakers making him the favourite to be sacked.
Sutton does not believe he is in danger this weekend, though, saying he believes a game in the middle of November will determine his fate.
“Looking at Sunderland’s next few fixtures, the one that stands out as a must-win is their home game against Hull on 19 November,” he told BBC Sport.
“If they fail to beat Arsenal and Bournemouth, then the visit of the Tigers will be the game to define Moyes’ tenure. If Sunderland are still without a win after that, things will become extremely difficult for him.”
Sunderland will be determined to pick up their first win in the two games before that big clash against Hull.
First, they take on Arsenal at the Stadium of Light this weekend, a game not many are expecting them to pick anything up from given the Gunners currently top the table.
After that, it is Bournemouth, who currently sit tenth in the table and will not prove easy competitors in any regard either.
A failure to pick up points in either game will certainly ramp up the pressure, not only on that game against Hull but also Moyes.
