Sunderland brought in both Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson from Everton during the January transfer window.
Chris Sutton has told the Daily Mail that he believes the fact Darron Gibson and Byran Oviedo weren’t starting for Everton is not good news for Sunderland.
The Black Cats brought the pair to the Stadium of Light during the January transfer window, despite their failure to break into Ronald Koeman’s starting line-up.
And Sutton fears that Everton’s reluctance to play either of the duo, suggests that they won’t be able to turn Sunderland’s fortunes around.

“Improved performances of late have given the fans hope but I don’t think Sunderland did enough in the transfer window,” Sutton said.
“The fact Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson were not getting games for Everton is not good — and they could not get a deal for Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa over the line. I feel for Moyes but Sunderland do not have the strength in depth to stay up.”
Moyes makes admission about Sunderland’s transfer window; gives verdict on Oviedo’s debut
Despite Sutton’s fears, Oviedo made a very bright start for Sunderland last weekend.

The Costa Rican international started for David Moyes’ side at Selhurst Park, as Sunderland picked up a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Gibson also came off the substitutes’ bench during that match, to help the Black Cats seal the three points.
Sunderland still sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, as things stand, with their next match coming at home to Southampton on Saturday.
