The BT Sport pundit believes Spurs’ ‘stingy’ defence will see them come out on top.
Chris Sutton has told BT Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat arch-rivals Arsenal when the North London rivals face off at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
Spurs are three points behind the Gunners after Saturday’s fixtures following their failure to hold onto a 1-0 lead against last season’s champions Leicester City at White Hart Lane.
That result extended their unbeaten start to the league season to 10 games but means that they have now dropped two points in each of their last three outings.
Arsenal are also in excellent form, unbeaten in all competitions since the opening day of the season, and put four past sorry Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
However, Sutton is adamant that Spurs will come out on top in next weekend’s North London derby as he feels they are a better team unit than the Gunners with a “stingy” defence.
Sutton told BT Sport: “I think Tottenham will beat them. I think that they are stingy enough at the back, I think if Arsenal will come on to them that will suit Tottenham.
“I think Tottenham are a little bit ahead of Arsenal. Obviously not in the league, but as a team.”
It will certainly be an intriguing match-up, with the two North London sides having lost just three of their combined 30 fixtures in all competitions so far this season.
Though we are still at an early stage of the season, the result of Sunday could have a large bearing on the success of each team’s campaign.
