Chris Sutton believes that Scott Brown should not start Celtic’s Europa League clash on Thursday.

Chris Sutton has suggested on Twitter that he would not pick Scott Brown in the starting lineup for Celtic’s Europa League clash with Rosenborg on Thursday.
Brown has been out since the win over Hibernian last month due to a hamstring injury. Brendan Rodgers’ men have hardly missed the skipper however, as they have enjoyed a brilliant run of form.
After losing to RB Leipzig, Celtic have won five and drawn one of their last six games in all competitions. They have scored 16 goals and conceded just one in that time, so they will be high on confidence heading into the clash in Norway.
And they have received a further boost with the news that Brown is back available for the Bhoys. However, when Sutton was asked whether he would pick the captain in the starting lineup, the pundit’s response was seemingly emphatic.

Here is Sutton’s tweet…
It would appear to be sensible to leave Brown out of the starting lineup. Celtic’s midfield has been exceptional in recent weeks with Callum McGregor performing brilliantly in the middle of the park.
And while Thursday’s clash could have huge implications for their chances of getting through to the knockout phase of the competition, bringing Brown back into the fold slightly more gradually may reap more long-term benefits for the Hoops – especially with the cup final emerging on the horizon.
