Glasgow Rangers right-back James Tavernier did not play well for Steven Gerrard’s side on Thursday.
Rangers right-back James Tavernier
Chris Sutton has criticised Rangers defender James Tavernier on Twitter for his performance against Young Boys.
Rangers have suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Young Boys away from home in Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.
Tavernier was in action for the Gers, but the 27-year-old right-back was at fault for both the goals that the home team scored.
Former Celtic striker Sutton was following the match, and he has criticised the Ranger star.
Ex-Hibernian forward Tam McManus, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, has also slammed Tavernier.
Disappointing result
When Rangers took the lead on the stroke of half time through star striker Alfredo Morelos, it looked as though Steven Gerrard’s side were going to pick up all three points from the encounter.
Gerrard will be bitterly disappointed with the performance of his players in the second half, and he will want more and much better from his team in their next game.
