Jozo Simunovic scored the only goal of the match midway through the second period with a header, as the Hoops stay on course for their eighth league success in a row.
The win means that Neil Lennon’s side are now 12 points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers, who have a game in hand.
Rangers could well win their match in hand, but it is hard to see Steven Gerrard’s side catch the Hoops at the top of the league table now.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner was also pleased with the final result, and said on BBC Sport: “The tempo in the second half [from Celtic] was up a bit.
“How fitting is it that Jozo Simunovic the number 5, got the goal? You’ve got to give Kilmarnock credit for the way they approached the game.”
