John Hartson has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Celtic’s win against Heart of Midlothian at the weekend.

Celtic maintained their good run of form in the Scottish Premiership with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Hearts at Celtic Park on Sunday.

Vakoun Issouf Bayo was the star of the show for the Bhoys, as the 22-year-old forward scored two goals.

Callum McGregor was the other scorer for the Hoops, and former Celtic striker Hartson was pleased with the final result.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes that the performance of Bayo was “encouraging”, while ex-Hoops goalkeeper Pat Bonner has said that the Celtic Park faithful were “very happy” with the display produced by the Ivory Coast international.

Bonner told BBC Sport: “The fans are very happy with what they’ve seen so far, I know it’s Vakoun Bayo’s first game so we won’t judge him too much on this one but what a confidence boost for him.”

Own goals?

Hearts defender Christophe Berra has said that Bayo did not score any of the goals against his side, as both were own goals.

The 34-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town defender has said that the forward’s opening goal was was actually an own goal by himself, and that the second one was an own goal from Craig Halkett.

Berra told BBC Sport: “Yeah, it was a cross and from a yard just bounced up and hit me. We should have deal with it better overall, but I couldn’t get out the way. We’ve scored two own goals today.”

Encouraging performance

Bayo played well against Hearts, and the youngster’s confidence will be boosted by his goals.

Hearts are a good side, and having done well against them, the forward will now hope to get a run in the Celtic team.
