Everton lost against Atalanta in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Everton’s disappointing start to the season continued on Thursday evening, as they went down 3-0 to Atalanta away from home.
The Toffees lost badly to Serie A outfit Atalanta in Italy in their opening Europa League Group E game.
The defeat followed Ronald Koeman’s side’s 3-0 loss at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
The performance of Everton against Atalanta was hugely disappointing, especially at the back, as they conceded all three goals in the opening 45 minutes.
Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton has criticised the performance of the Merseyside outfit on social networking site Twitter, and so has ex-Everton defender Michael Ball.

Over the course of the 90 minutes on Thursday evening, visitors Everton had 49% of the possession, took 13 shots of which three were on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
Everton will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
