Liverpool have made an impressive start to the new campaign, while Leicester City have been short of their best.

Chris Sutton has backed Liverpool to make it into the top four on BBC programme Match of the Day Three.

The Reds have been in impressive form over the early part of the campaign, with their attacking play catching the eye.

Jurgen Klopp appears to have made vast improvements with his squad over the summer, and the pace they now have going forward has caused a number of problems.

Liverpool beat Arsenal 4-3 on opening day, and they backed up that display by beating Leicester City 4-1 in their most recent outing.

Liverpool are now hovering just outside the Champions League qualification spots, and Sutton believes that they will break into the top four by the end of the season.

“Their attacking play is scintillating,” the former Celtic striker said. “Defensively they are a bit of a worry, but they are great on the eye. I think they are going to get in the Champions League.”

Jermaine Jenas, meanwhile, was less optimistic about Leicester’s chances of repeating last season’s success.

The Foxes have not looked capable of defending their title in the opening weeks of the season, and their heavy defeat at Anfield was a humbling experience.

Jenas now believes that Leicester will have to settle for a mid-table spot this term.

“I don’t think many people are expecting them to finish above eighth,” Jenas added. “Between eighth and 10th is where I see them finishing.”

Liverpool’s next Premier League match comes against Chelsea, while Leicester are due to face Burnley.
