Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have progressed to the Europa League playoff round, and are praised by former Gers midfielder Alex Rae and Chris Sutton.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers’ progress to the Europa League playoff round.
Ibrox club Rangers played out a goalless draw with NK Maribor away from home in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying third round on Thursday evening.
Having won the first leg of the tie 3-1 at Ibrox last week, Gerrard’s Gers have now booked their place in the Europa League playoff round courtesy of a goalless draw in the second leg.
Rangers will now have to get the better of Russian side FC Ufa to reach the Europa League group stage.
Former Celtic striker Sutton was following the match, and the Englishman was impressed with the performance of Rangers against Maribor and have praised the Ibrox club on Twitter.
Alex Rae, who was on the books of Rangers from 2004 until 2006, has also praised the Gers on Twitter after progressing to the Europa League playoff round.
