Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to aim a five-word dig at Rangers, after Celtic soared above Liverpool and AC Milan in the power rankings.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have unveiled their list of top clubs over the past decade, with Celtic sat 11th.

That places the Hoops above Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Sevilla and Napoli as the Daily Record covered.

It might not mean much for Celtic fans right now given what’s going on at Celtic Park, but it’s still a fine achievement.

After hearing about it, Sutton couldn’t resist aiming a cheeky dig at Rangers.

To answer the BT Sport pundit’s question, no. Rangers are not on the list.

We have a feeling he already knew that.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain make up the top four, in the system which tallies up points based on domestic and European exploits.

Interestingly, Aberdeen are the only other Scottish side on the list.

They sit 138th in the list of 140 clubs – The Dons just sneak in!

Finding themselves 11th on this list just goes to show how big of a club Celtic are, if that wasn’t already obvious.

The likes of Liverpool are a huge player in the world of football, so to be deemed a more successful club than the Reds over the last decade is some achievement.

Even more so when that decade saw Jürgen Klopp’s side win the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
