Chris Powell and Burton Albion defender Stephen Warnock have been impressed with Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen.
Leeds United appointed Thomas Christiansen as their head coach in the summer following the departure of Garry Monk.
Monk was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer of 2016, and the former Swansea City manager was very successful at Elland Road last season.
Under the guidance of Monk, the Whites narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship during the 2016-17 campaign.
The 38-year-old former Swansea centre-back is now in charge of Middlesbrough, who are also playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
Christiansen has done a wonderful job at Leeds so far, and there is renewed optimistic around Elland Road.
The Whites are third in the Championship table at the moment with 11 points from five matches, just a point behind second-placed Ipswich Town and four points behind leaders Cardiff City.
Former Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has been impressed with Christiansen, and so has Burton Albion and ex-Leeds defender Stephen Warnock.
“Very, very good,” Powell told Sky Sports when asked how good a job Christiansen has done at Leeds so far.
“I watched their first game against Bolton. They had a good spirit about them. They looked like they knew what they were doing. They had a gameplan.”
“You look at a new manager coming in, and with it being a foreign manager you always wonder how he is going to adapt to the league, probably the same as David Wagner last year at Huddersfield,” said Warnock on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6pm, September 8, 2017).
“Can he cope with the demands of the league and adapt to it? Obviously he has done that very well so far.”
