Rangers landed two strikers in August – and that’s even with Alfredo Morelos still at Ibrox.
The Gers saw Florian Kamberi return to Hibernian this summer, and with Jermain Defoe injured whilst question marks hang over Morelos, Rangers decided to sign two strikers.
In came Kemar Roofe from Anderlecht as well as Swiss international Cedric Itten from St Gallen, giving Steven Gerrard four dangerous strikers to work with.
Itten has picked up an injury which has ruled him out of the international break, but there is plenty to be encouraged about with Roofe.
The 27-year-old has already opened his Rangers account, scoring in the 2-0 home win over Kilmarnock last month.
He has looked bright and dangerous in his first four appearances for Rangers, and more goals are likely to come from him.
Roofe hit 14 goals in the 2018-19 season for Leeds United, and then seven goals in 16 games for Anderlecht, showing himself as a prolific scorer when fit.

Now, Roofe’s former Oxford United teammate Chris Maguire has told the Daily Record that he thinks Roofe will bag 15-20 goals this season, believing that he will thrive in Scotland and ‘definitely’ score goals for the Gers.
“Knowing the standard of Scottish football, I’d definitely expect Kemar to get at least 15 to 20 goals up there,” said Maguire. “Any striker signing for the Old Firm – with the demand on both clubs to create and take opportunities – you’ll get five or six chances in every game.”
“So there’s real potential to get a lot of goals. A fully fit and confident Roofe will definitely score goals for Rangers,” he added.
