Leeds United lost against Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium in the Championship at the weekend.

Leeds United suffered a second successive defeat in the Championship at the weekend, as they went down 3-0 to Sheffield Wednesday away from home.
Thomas Christiansen’s side headed into the match against Wednesday at the Hillsborough Stadium on Sunday afternoon on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Whites were expected at least pick up a point against the Owls and were supposed to give the home team a run for their money, but they were outclassed from start to finish.

Carlos Carvalhal’s Wednesday were the better side from the first minute to the last and deservedly picked up all three points.
Former Liverpool and Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland was following the match for Sky Sports, and he believes that Leeds need to tighten up at the back in order to get promoted from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the season.

“To get out of this league and to be at the top of the league, you have got to keep clean sheets,” said Kirkland during the post-match coverage of the match between Wednesday and Leeds on Sky Sports Football on Sunday afternoon (2:27pm, October 1, 2017).
“Sheffield Wednesday, last two seasons, 16, 17 clean sheets in a season. Until they tighten up at the back, they are going to struggle a little bit.”
