Chris Kamara net worth is currently trending after the 64-year-old appeared on ITV to speak about his struggles with apraxia.
The popular figure was recently diagnosed with a rare condition called apraxia of speech, which means he has trouble articulating what he wants to say.
It is surely a difficult thing for anybody to deal with, let alone Kamara, who has made a name for himself as one of the more talkative, bubbly personalities on our television screens.
After his Lost For Words showed aired on ITV last night, let’s take a look at some details.
Chris Kamara net worth
Throughout his career in football and television, Kamara has amassed a net worth of £16m.
Kamara joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16 before Portsmouth signed him back in November 1974.
He spent time at a number of clubs, including Leeds, Stoke, Swindon Town and Middlesbrough, but it was at Brentford where he spent the longest period of his playing career.
Kamara made 152 appearances for the Bees in total from 1981 to 1985.
Interestingly, his wealth was not just earned from playing football or discussing it on television.
Kamara also dabbled in football management, taking the reins at Bradford City from 1995 to 1998, where he won promotion to the old first division just months into the job having previously worked as assistant manager to Lennie Lawrence.
Amazingly, he was only tasked with keeping the Bantams out of the relegation zone when hired.
Kamara was then hired by Stoke in 1998, where things did not go too well – he lasted just three months in the role.
Kamara then started to work in broadcasting for Sky Sports in 1999, before sadly having to retire as a result of his apraxia diagnosis after 24 years in the industry.
