Celtic and Brighton and Hove Albion have been linked with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez in the summer transfer window.
Gomez has been on the books of Liverpool since 2015 when he joined from Charlton Athletic for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £3.5 million and has a contract with the Reds until June 2022, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 20-year-old defender has yet to establish himself in the Reds’ first team, and one should not be surprised if manager Jurgen Klopp decides to let the youngster leave this summer.

Brighton manager Hughton has revealed that he is interested in signing Gomez from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
“We’ve registered our interest but he’s not our player,” The Argus quotes Hughton as saying about Gomez. “It will be up to Liverpool. I’d like to think we are very much in the running.”
Celtic need to step up
With Brighton making their interest in Gomez public, it is time for Celtic to step up their game. The Sun reported earlier this month of the Glasgow giants’ interest in the youngster.
If the Bhoys are genuinely keen on the England Under-21 international, then they need to make an offer to Liverpool soon, or they could run of time.
