Chris Hughton has praised Newcastle United’s supporters for their loyalty.

Chris Hughton has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 17th November, that he finds it brilliant that Newcastle United are getting over 50,000 supporters to come to St. James’ Park regularly.
Hughton, who guided Newcastle to promotion from the Championship the last time they were at this level, knows all about the loyalty of the supporters of the Tyneside club.
And the current Brighton & Hove Albion manager has praised Newcastle’s fans for turning up in their masses again this term.
“Newcastle at the moment, I think it’s brilliant, to see them getting 50,000 in this division,” Hughton said. “It’s a tough division and you have to approach this division knowing that you can lose every game.”
Newcastle’s attendances have been helped by the positive feeling around the club, despite relegation.
Rafael Benitez’s decision to stay with Newcastle ensured that confidence remained high for the campaign, and the North East side are clearly enjoying life in the Championship.

Newcastle have won their last eight games in succession, to move to the top of the second tier standings.
Hughton’s Brighton’s side are currently Newcastle’s closest challengers, with the pair building up a healthy gap between themselves and the rest of the teams in the division.
